My Facebook page for Engaged & Confused was not as successful as I thought it was going to be.
As you can see below, I had one comment on one post, out of eleven. And I was lucky to get
one like on each post. A big part of this is definitely because I didn't have a Facebook before
taking this class, so I started it with absolutely no friends on Facebook. Even though I didn't
have many likes or comments, it was really fun to actually work with Facebook and get a
taste of advertising. If I were to change anything, I would probably share more fun stories
that had to do with weddings, like the Disney post. I sadly will not be taking this page
any further, but I now know I would try and gain a following before I started another page
in order to get more likes and comments.

My Facebook posts, if they had been successful, would have affirmed that my readers either loved or hated my posts. They could have commented or liked my posts to communicate with me. Through commenting, they could have connected with me personally, or tell me that they made a connection. I could have gotten feedback on how to improve my posts and really start to pull in more of an audience. I posted every now and then, but definitely didn't post as much as I could have. I personally feel that my posts did contain a human touch because it wasn't an automated message from a website, it was me asking questions, and putting in funny sayings (see the disney post, to the left). I was trying to make that connection with my audience, automatically giving it a human touch. I crafted dialogue with the audience by asking questions and including surveys (even though no one answered them). |
